Calvinism - and Modern Bible Versions

Confusion will arise (in all areas of doctrine) if modern 'bible' versions are used instead of God's true scripture. Consider, for example, how use of modern versions completely changes the meaning of God's word and therefore can lead people to believe in Calvinism.
One of the most commonly quoted verses regarding salvation, by Calvinists and Christians alike is Ephesians 2:8,9. The bible says:
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
The "way" whereby we are saved - that which leadeth unto life - is narrow. (Matt 7:14) Obviously we must walk this narrow way until we get to that life. ("unto life") This truth is found in many verses, including: I Pet 1:5; II Tim 3:15; Rom 10:10; and John 3:16
But the modern versions make salvation an accomplished fact, and a one-time event. They do this by changing the verb tense to the past or past-perfect tenses.
NIV: 8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast.
NASB: 8For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
NLB: 8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
NKJ: 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Don't be deceived by Calvinistic teachings or by modern bible versions. Find yourself a copy of God's word, the authorized King James Bible. Read it, and believe it as written.
