A Warning to Catholic Christians

1. Who is this Woman in Revelation chapters 17 and 18?
2. We learned in a previous article_about_Catholics_and_Christianity that, in Revelation chapter 17, the apostle John is shown a vision of the judgment of "the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:" For us to understand who she is, we are told the characteristics of this woman.
3. In the bible, Christians are symbolized by virgins, the bride of Christ. Conversely, religious non-Christians are depicted as harlots.
4. The woman of Revelation 17 is called the "Mother of Harlots".
a. The woman is a city which reigneth over the kings of the earth (Rev 17:18) (What city other than Rome can make such a claim?)
b. The woman (city) sits on seven mountains (Rev 17:9)
(Rome is known as the City of Seven Hills and has names for each of them, as proudly described by tour guides to those visiting the city)
c. The woman is arrayed in purple and scarlet colour. (Rev 17:4) (Many photos of Pope John Paul II's funeral clearly show the purple and scarlet clothing of the Catholic leadership. The bishops and archbishops wear purple, and the cardinals wear scarlet. These happen to be the ruling bodies of the church - the bishops and archbishops effectively are representatives of the people, a congress or lower house; the cardinals are effectively a body of senators, the upper house. What organization other than the Roman Catholic church can so precisely fit this prophecy?)
d. The woman is drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. (Rev 17:6) (The Roman Catholic church has put tens of millions of Christians to death, including William Tyndale, for nothing more than their faith in God, believing the bible outside of the interpretations dictated by Rome.)
e. The woman sits on many waters - which represent peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. (Rev 17:15) (Does the Roman Catholic church enjoy control over many peoples, multitudes, nations and tongues/languages of people?)
f. The woman is decked with gold and precious stones and pearls. (Rev 17:4) (The Roman Catholic church is very wealthy and prominently displays such glitter.)
g. The woman has a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication. The inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. (Rev 17:4 and17:2) The Roman Catholic church is full of abominations, such as forbidding its priesthood to marry - which is a doctrine of devils (I Tim 4:1-3), the Pope claiming to be God on earth, numerous traditions it claims are equal to scripture but that Jesus says make the word of God of none effect (Mark 7:13), and many more religious rituals that have enslaved peoples of the earth in spiritual fornication - all of this besides her use of many literal golden cups.
h. The kings of the earth have committed fornication with the woman. (Rev 18:3) (Again, watch the vast parade of world leaders who have maneuvered to receive the Pope's blessing and who knelt by Pope John's Paul II's corpse under the spotlight of the world.)
i. The merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of the woman's delicacies. (Rev 18:3) (The sale of Roman Catholic paraphernalia is undeniably big business.)
j. The woman is the "Mother of Harlots." (Rev 17:5) This means that she has many daughter churches that are harlots, promoting false gospels. Since Vatican council II, several Christian leaders, including the Pope, have rejected the concept of "sister" churches. They emphatically state that the Roman Catholic church is the "mother" church and that her arms are open to receive her "daughter churches" back into the fold. The Roman Catholic church, through the Ecumenical movement and Interfaith movement is working hard to unify the harlots under her umbrella.
k. In her, (the woman) was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth. (Rev 18:24)
l. The woman deceived all nations (people) of the earth by her sorceries. (Rev 18:23)
5. With such precise prophecy, at some point the objective person must discount co-incidence and realize that God is truly warning his people about the Roman Catholic church and her harlot daughters when he writes:
"Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." (Rev 18:4)
